Türk Telekom Hotspot Data Limit Explained
Türk Telekom calls its hotspot allowance "paylaşım kotası". Like the other Turkish operators, it is tracked separately from the data your phone uses directly. That is why a hotspot connection can slow down while your main package still shows data remaining.
How paylaşım kotası works
Türk Telekom packages can include a specific allowance for hotspot sharing instead of letting tethered use draw from the same pool as on-device data. Once that allowance is used, tethered connections are reduced to a lower speed for the rest of the billing period, even if the phone's own data is still available. Allowances vary by tariff and change over time, so check the figure for your own line in the Türk Telekom app.
How to check your remaining hotspot data
- Türk Telekom app Your usage details list the paylaşım kotası separately from your main data.
- SMS Send KALAN to 5555 to receive your remaining usage.
- Your phone's counter Android's data usage settings show how much you have shared through the hotspot, though the operator's figure is the one that applies.

- Move to a tariff with a larger sharing allowance if you tether often.
- Wait for the next billing period, when the allowance resets.
- Use Wi-Fi for large downloads on the laptop.

If you want to share your phone's mobile data with a laptop or another phone, Tether Link Utility is an Android app that does this through a local SOCKS5 proxy. Data used by connected devices still counts toward your mobile plan, so check your carrier's tethering terms.
